After getting a massage a very common question comes up to the mind. Tip? How much one should tip the message therapist? Well, if you go by logic, they say 10% should be the tipping amount. But, i feel one must consider the quality of service also. If one does not feel good and relaxed after spending one hour and paying hefty fee, then there is no point giving those extra bucks. Or, else, if tip is so important, then might as well cut it down. But on the other side, if you feel that the service was excellent and after the session you feel a new you, then please you should not stop yourself to give a decent tip to the massage therapist. After all it is his/ her hard work which makes them earn the tip.
Many massage units does not allow tipping, as the amount is charged as service charge in the cost itself. It depends upon our own instinct to tip or not. Centre which do not allow tipping, have common pools, where the tip amount goes and is later distributed equally.
While giving tip you should consider following points as well:
· Consider, if the massage centre has tried to accommodate you last minute.
· The tip amount can range between 10 to 25%.
· Consider, if the therapist was punctual, courteous and sober with you. It should be a feel good experience for you.
· Check the cost of the service before getting the massage done
· One important point to remember is that if you are scheduled for a massage at the doctor then no tip please.
Service industry requires being courteous to the client. If you feel you had a bad experience, you should always speak to the masseuse or the manager. It will help them improve their services. Lastly, whether you decide to give tip or not, a simple word of appreciation does all the magic. So please don’t forget to say ‘Thank You’.
