Katy Perry and Lady Gaga will be battling it out at the MTV Europe Music Awards as both stars have received five nominations.

The US singers will go head-to-head in several categories. Lady Gaga, who recently dominated the MTV Video Music Awards, is up for Best Pop, Female, Live Act, Song and Video. Katy joins her in four of these categories - Pop, Female, Song and Video - and is also up for World Stage Performance award.

Rihanna has also received three nods in the Pop, Female and Song categories.

The awards take place in Madrid on 7th November.
